Exploring our world through Dance, Art & Music
The Fine Arts Program is a developmental early childhood program using an integrated curriculum of visual art, music, dance, and dramatic activities as a base for meaningful, experimental and creative learning. The program provides a safe, nurturing environment that promotes the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of each child.
PROGRAM GOALS
- To enhance a positive self-image, a sense of self-worth and self-direction.
- To provide an appropriate learning experience through play and the integration of arts through a balance of teacher directed and self-directed activities that will contribute to the needs of children in all areas of development: socially, emotionally, physically and cognitively.
- To provide meaningful experiences for the children as a basis for developing learning skills and concepts.
- To recognize every child as being “unique”, valuing their emerging ideas and individual efforts, along with their need to learn, explore and discover at their own pace.
- To foster responsibility, respect, empathy, and care for the environment.
- To facilitate learning in an environment in which children are free to learn through concrete experiences and take responsibility for their own choices.
